About SLG Systems
Meet the Team
Our highly qualified, skilled and experienced team at SLG provides an exceptional service to all our customers. We understand at SLG that security and safety is a top priority for all our customers, and we aim to ensure we provide this when completing all projects. All our team at SLG undergo yearly refresher training to comply with industry and accreditors standards.
The team at SLG are also supported by our manufacturers technical teams, and receive regular training to keep staff updated, with manufacturers latest products and technologies.
Management Team

Director Andy
Andy has been in the Fire and Security and electrical industry for over 25 years. Completing his
electrical apprenticeship he then went onto work in the Fire and Security industry. Working on
commercial electrical projects and working his way up to managing in the Fire and Security
industry Andy’s ambition was to start his own family run business.

After COVID hit Andy took the opportunity to set up his own business and this was the start of
SLG Systems in 2021.
​
When asked why Andy wanted to start SLG Systems he said: “His main goal is to give SLG customers an honest and complete service”.

Senior Engineer Ricky
Ricky has been in the Fire and Security industry for over 15 years after completing his Fire and
Security apprenticeship. Ricky has a wide knowledge of all security and fire systems, and
particularly enjoys installing new systems.

Joining the SLG team in 2023, Ricky has fast become an integral part of the team at SLG and
works closely with Andy on managing projects. Ricky also plays a crucial part in training SLG
apprentices.
When asked why Ricky chose to join the SLG team he said: “At SLG customer service is a top
priority and giving customers an honest service gives me job satisfaction”.

Office Manager Danielle
Danielle has a wealth of knowledge of management experience, having previously managed
businesses for over 20 years. Danielle also has experience of running apprenticeships alongside management and looks after our apprentices here at SLG.

Joining the SLG team in 2022 Danielle oversees the day to day running and organisation of
SLG. When asked why Danielle chose to join the SLG team she said: “I share Andy’s ambition of creating a family run business.
​
Part of SLG’s mission is to ensure we provide a high level of customer service to our customers
and to ensure staff are continually trained to progress with their futures. I was happy to become a part of SLG to help achieve this.
Apprenticeships at SLG
Our apprentices at SLG attend Watford Skills for Security training centre every 8 weeks for a one-week
block week, here they work towards their Level 3 Fire Emergency Security Systems qualification.
When not attending college, they work with the team at SLG, for 5 days a week, gaining knowledge on
how to complete works in a safe environment, customer service, installation projects and how to maintain
and service a security and fire systems.
All apprentices are supported with theory and practical work throughout there apprenticeship with the
SLG team.

SLG APPRENTICE KEOWN
Keown started his apprenticeship with SLG September 23 after working with us a few days a
week and completing his Level 1 Electrical course at college.

When asked why Keown wanted to join the team at SLG to complete his apprenticeship he said: “After working a few days a week with SLG I decided I wanted to complete my apprenticeship in Fire and Security. At SLG I feel supported with my apprenticeship, and I look forward to progressing my career in this industry.”
Vacancies
Fire and Security Engineer.
We are looking for a full-time qualified Security and Fire Systems Technician.
Experience and knowledge of Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Access Control Systems, and other systems is essential.
Experience with the following manufacturers is desired: Texecom, Galaxy, Pyronix, Advance, Kentec, Paxton.
FIA training preferred
